Cooking Instructions

1. Cook Rice

Cook Rice

Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Add the rinsed rice and the appropriate amount of water to your rice cooker. Each packet contains 2 cups of rice.

Don’t have a rice cooker? Rinse and drain rice. In a pot, bring water to a boil (3 cups for 2 servings / 6 cups for 4 servings / 9 cups for 6 servings). Add rice, stir once, cover, and reduce heat to low. Simmer until water is absorbed and rice is tender (12–15 min / 15–18 min / 18–20 min). Remove from heat and let it sit while covered (10 min / 10–15 min / 15 min).

2. Season the Steak

Wash the steak and pat it dry with a paper towel. Lightly season both sides with salt and rub 2 Tbs of vegetable oil over the surface of the steak.

Repeat the seasoning process for the additional steaks if you are preparing 4 or 6 servings.

3. Cook the Steak

Heat a cast iron or heavy-bottomed pan over medium-high heat until hot. Place the steak in the pan and cook to your preference:

  • Medium-rare: 3-4 minutes per side
  • Medium: 5-6 minutes per side
  • Well-done: 7-8 minutes per side

 

Repeat the cooking process for the additional steaks if you are preparing 4 or 6 servings.

4. Rest the Steak

Once cooked, remove steak from the pan and brush both sides generously with Ahh Maa Donburi Sauce. Set the remainder of the sauce aside and let the steak rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing.

5. Prepare the Salad

Wash the mixed salad in cold water and let them dry. In a bowl, toss the salad with the Ahh Maa Sesame Soy Dressing and set aside.

6. Serve & Enjoy

Scoop steamed rice into a bowl and drizzle a small amount of Ahh Maa Donburi Sauce over it. Slice the rested steak into 5 mm – 1 cm thick slices and arrange them over the rice. Add the prepared mixed salad next to the steak. Drizzle additional Ahh Maa Donburi Sauce over the steak and salad, then garnish with roasted sesame seeds.

Repeat for the additional servings.

Serve hot and enjoy!
